Summer is in full swing and we have a lot of exciting things going on at Spark Fitness this month. Let’s dive right in!

HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

Our staff is excited to celebrate the spark-liest of holidays this Independence Day, and we hope you can take time to (safely) enjoy the fireworks and festivities with friends and family! Please note the following schedule adjustments:

  • July 3: Morning classes as scheduled; evening classes canceled
  • July 4: Closed
  • July 5: Regular class schedule resumes
SPARK GIVES BACK

Spark owner and dedicated cat mom Jenn hosted a donation class for Ten Lives Club on June 23 and we raised $600! Thank you so much for your support in helping this amazing organization take care of kitties and find their forever homes! Visit tenlivesclub.com for more information about their mission and to see adorable, adoptable cats. Stay tuned for a kitten yoga pop-up class this fall (yes … we’ll have kittens in the studio!)

SUMMER FUN

It’s not too late to grab your seat on the Spark Fitness TGIF Happy Hour Cruise on the Miss Buffalo! Mark your calendars for July 12 at 6 p.m. The 1.5-hour cruise features live entertainment and takes place rain or shine. Tickets are $31 each for members and non-members (adults 21+ only) and can be purchased on the Fare Harbor website.

Then, join us for our Summer Slam Challenge celebration on July 27 from 12-4 p.m. at Isle View Park Gazebo. Bring a dish to pass, celebrate everyone’s challenge results, and watch the winning team pie staff members in the face!

HAPPENING THIS MONTH

POP-UP PRICING UPDATE

We love hosting pop-up classes at Spark Fitness. They give us an opportunity to introduce new types of workouts to our Spark family and put a spotlight on our staff and guest instructors. To accommodate growing demand, pop-ups (with the exception of stretch classes) will be $5 for members and $15 for non-members. You can purchase credits on our app or website; your member discount will be applied at checkout.

We appreciate your continued interest and support in these special classes and we hope to see you at a pop-up soon!

SPIN: INTRO CLASS & MORNING SERIES

Are you curious about spin classes but feeling a bit intimidated? Fear not! We’re excited to introduce our monthly free Intro to Spin Class designed specifically for beginners. Spin doesn’t have to be scary—it’s a fun and invigorating workout that anyone can enjoy, regardless of fitness level.

In this introductory session, you’ll learn everything you need to know to get started with confidence, including

  • Bike Setup
  • Positions and Terminology
  • Form and Alignment
  • Class Structure

FRIDAY MORNING SPIN

Calling all early birds! Join us for our Friday morning spin series July 12, 19, and 26 at 5:45 a.m. This high-energy, low-impact, 35-minute class is an amazing way to start your day. (Swifties, make sure to join us for our Taylor Swift-themed class on July 26!)

SPARK RUN CLUB TRAINING & EVENTS

Join Rachel for Spark Run Club training next month. Runners and walkers of all abilities are welcome!

  • Wednesdays @ 5:30 p.m.
  • Sundays @ 8:30 a.m.

We’ll meet up at Spark Fitness and explore the Rails to Trails path behind the building.

Rachel is an inspiring example of perseverance. A year ago, she doubted her running abilities, but with a Couch to 5K program, she completed her first 5K relay at the 2023 Independence Day race in Lancaster. Fast forward a year, and Rachel has completed the Buffalo half marathon. Her journey proves that with determination, you can achieve anything you set your mind to!

The run club will be participating in the Niagara Falls Craft Beer & Music Running Festival on August 3. There are several race options, including a 1-mile fun walk, along with 5K, 10K, and 15K run options along the beautiful Lower Niagara River Gorge. COMING UP: SPARK TURNS 3!

Time flies when you’re having fun and changing lives. We couldn’t have made it to our third year without our Spark Family! Jenn recently was invited to tell the Spark story – the journey from idea to reality – on the Plant Your Flag podcast. Check it out if you haven’t had a chance to listen yet!
