Spring is in full swing and we’re excited to bring you a bunch of fresh updates and events that will add some extra energy to your fitness journey! 🌟 This month’s newsletter includes:

  • Schedule Updates: We’ve listened to your feedback and updated our class schedule to better fit your busy lives. Remember, you can view our full schedule and real-time availability on our website or app; and make sure to reserve your spot early!
  • Run Club Events: The Spark Run Club is entering its second year hitting the ground running with several races and events on the agenda, including this month’s Buffalo Half Marathon. Come join us for support, motivation, and some friendly competition.
  • Summer Fun: Summer is just around the corner, and we’ve included a lineup of outdoor events that will keep you active and soaking up the sun. From next month’s Pride Parade to our second Happy Hour Cruise, there’s something for everyone.

SCHEDULE UPDATE

We always appreciate member feedback on our class offerings!

  • Calling all early birds! Starting May 7, join Jenn for a 30-minute express spin class on Tuesdays at 6:45 a.m.
  • Spin with Ally has been moved to Fridays at 5:30 p.m. The Thursday spin class at 6:30 p.m. has been removed from our schedule.

HAPPENING THIS MONTH

TREAT YO’ SELF: MAKE TIME FOR SELF CARE

Spark instructor Juni will be teaching a pop-up class on May 19 at noon during a Self-Care Wellness event hosted by CoreMess Wellness. This all-day event is an opportunity to escape from our very busy lives to improve your mind, body, spirit & overall mood. The day includes: free yoga class, donation-based activities, vendors, and mini self-care services. The event takes place at Riff City,166 Chandler Street in Buffalo. SPARK RUN CLUB: UPCOMING EVENTS

BUFFALO HALF MARATHON

The Spark Run Club is gearing up for the Buffalo Half Marathon on May 26. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or new to the distance, we’ll train as a team and cross that finish line together. Learn more and register here: https://buffalomarathon.org/half-marathon

LAPS OF LOVE FUNDRAISER

Laps of Love is a family-friendly and accessible event that promotes exercise, kindness, and inclusion. You can choose to run, walk, or roll the 1-mile or 5k route to support the Make Lemon Aide Foundation for Cerebral Palsy. BOYS & GIRLS CLUB JULY 4 10K & RELAY

The 46th annual Boys and Girls Club of Depew-Lancaster 10k and two-person 5k relay takes place July 4 at 8 a.m. This is the first race we joined as the Spark Run Club, and we’re excited to return for a second year! SPARK FITNESS @ PRIDE

We’re excited to participate in the Buffalo Pride Parade on June 2! We’re planning an 80’s themed float, and we’d love to have you participate! We’ll have more details soon, but in the meantime you can learn more about Buffalo Pride Week here: https://buffalopride.org.

BUFFALO-NIAGARA DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL

Several members of our Spark Family are participating in the Buffalo-Niagara Dragon Boat Festival on June 15 at Buffalo Riverworks, which supports Hope Chest exercise, nutrition, and wellness programs for breast cancer survivors. The event also includes a children’s area, vendors, 50/50 raffle, and entertainment. For more information, visit: https://www.hopechestbuffalo.org/activities.

MISS BUFFALO CRUISE

We’re bringing back the Spark Fitness TGIF Happy Hour Cruise on the Miss Buffalo for a second year in a row! Mark your calendars for July 12 at 6 p.m. The 1.5-hour cruise features live entertainment and takes place rain or shine.

Tickets are $31 each for members and non-members (adults 21+ only) and can be purchased on the Fare Harbor website.
