Spark Fitness November 2023 Newsletter

As the leaves fall and we welcome the crisp November air, we’re excited to announce a cornucopia of classes and a new holiday-themed challenge at Spark Fitness! Our aim is to keep you motivated, help you achieve your fitness goals, and make sure you have fun while doing it.

In this season of gratitude and togetherness, we’re also reminded of the importance of family and health. Thanksgiving is not just about feasting on delicious food, but also about cherishing our loved ones and appreciating the gift of health. That’s why this month, we’re introducing a new initiative to involve your kids in fitness. We’ll be offering a members-only Kids Class Pack add-on to get your children (ages 10-17) moving and instill a love of physical activity from an early age. spin class update

Attention all spin class enthusiasts! We have an exciting early holiday surprise just for you. Starting this week, we are thrilled to announce the addition of a new spin class on Wednesdays at 5:45 a.m. Get ready to experience the ultimate workout with the dynamic duo of Jenn and Shamyr. They’ll be splitting instructor duties and bringing their own special flair to our already high-energy classes. Mark your calendars and join us on the bike for an exhilarating ride! CELEBRATING MEMBER MILESTONES

We see you crushing it in the studio, pursuing your fitness goals with dedication and determination. Starting this month, we plan to highlight members who’ve hit the triple-digit class attendance club, as well as top performers (members who have attended the most classes this month). If you’re not on the board yet, we know we’ll see you there soon! Congratulations to all our members who achieved significant milestones in October!

hips & splits with kaily

Stretch yourself (literally!) and add a little variety to your training program when guest instructor Kaily Noel stops by the studio on November 5 at 10:30 a.m. for a Hips & Splits class. Visit our schedule page or the Spark Fitness App to reserve your spot!

ABOUT HIPS & SPLITS

This 60-minute Hips & Splits class will focus on deep hip openers and prep to deepen your splits practice. We will use yoga blocks, straps, and active mobility work for tight hips and hamstrings. If you want to practice middle and full splits safely and need more opening within your hips, this is the class for YOU!

  • Drop-in: $15

more about kaily

Kaily comes from a personal yoga practice of heated vinyasa and 26+2. Her years of building a deep personal practice led her to get her 200-hour certification in 2018 with Evolation Yoga and she is currently working on completing her 300-hour yoga teacher training online. Besides teaching vinyasa, yin, kids yoga, and corporate yoga, she is also certified in Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) Mobility Training and Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST). She is experienced with running group classes and working one-on-one with clients through FRC mobility training and FST-assisted stretching for a much more personalized and hands-on approach. She works with a large variety of clients from beginners, to people living with chronic health, pain, and mobility issues, to experienced athletes who want to perform better.

Kaily uses her specialized approach and really strives to help everyone she works with adapt to her teaching concepts and feel comfortable to explore movement and connect with mind, body, and breath. Her philosophy is “When you move better, you feel better.” Make sure to check out her specialty FRC-designed hips & splits classes that focus on independent joint movement and strength training!

Parents have the incredible opportunity to shape the future of their children’s health and well-being. By setting an example of fitness and wellness, we can inspire our kids to embrace a healthy lifestyle from an early age.

spark run club: Upcoming events

Spark Run Club had a great showing at October’s EVL Halloween Half, 5k, & Relay. It was a blast seeing everyone in their costumes while enjoying the fall weather and scenery.

Next up is the Bottle Rocket Beer Reserve Mile on November 12. The event combines running and speed drinking on a 1/4-mile course in the parking lots and streets surrounding Bottle Rocket Beer Reserve in Buffalo. It begins with the consumption of a can or bottle of delicious, nutritious Genesee Cream Ale, followed by a full lap of the course. Repeat for a total of 4 laps.

The event is limited to 90 participants (ages 21+), so grab your spot now!

member spotlight: Linda

This month, we’re highlighting Linda!

Linda (@lmdanna187) always walks in the door with a smile and gives every workout 100%. We are so grateful to have her in our classes!

I have been a member of Spark since April of 2023. This past week I completed my 70th class. I joined the 6-week challenge, and when I completed that I decided to become a member.

I cannot express enough how much I love this gym. In six months, not only have I lost weight, but I have gotten so much stronger and I haven’t had this much energy in years!!

My favorite gym days are Mondays and Wednesdays, but I also love a good Savage Saturday with Alex! It’s a new experience each time I attend and I love the variety at each training session. All of the trainers are positive and helpful but not afraid to push us outside our comfort zone. I’ve gone from deadlifting 25 lbs back in April to 45 lbs last week … something I never thought I could do.

Spark Fitness is the gym I never knew I needed. I actually enjoy and look forward to my workouts now as I never know what’s in store for me each session. Seeing the positive changes in my overall physical and mental health have been so rewarding.

Thanks Jenn for texting me back in April and telling me to come and check out the gym. It has been an amazing journey so far and I’m looking forward to seeing what else is in store for me as time goes on.

To anyone thinking of joining Spark, take the leap. I can assure you it will be life changing!
