This month’s newsletter is short and sweet. But we wanted to take a minute to thank you for your votes during the Buffalo NewsBest of 716 campaign.Spark Fitness was awarded Best Spin Class! This is a tremendous honor for a new studio, and we couldn’t have done it without your feedback, referrals, social media shares and overall support!

When we opened Spark Fitness in August 2021, our intent was to operate as a group training facility focusing on HIIT workouts. But then fate intervened, and we added an indoor cycling studio on May 1 of this year. We have top-of-the-line Stages SC3 bikes, Spivi for metrics and a screen for music videos! Our amazing roster of instructors are passionate about providing fun, safe workouts, and we’re always coming up with ideas to make our spin classes more engaging and effective.

Please give a warm welcome to our newest instructor: Stephanie! She is a born and raised Buffalo girl, and has been a certified spin instructor since 2018 and absolutely loves to cycle.

Stephanie will be teaching classes on Mondays at 6:45 p.m. Her style is a combination of endurance and strength with high-energy music and lots of encouragement along the way.

When she not spinning, she is working full-time as the Sales and Service Director at Jerry insurance. Stephanie is a wife, daughter, sister and certified cool aunt. She can’t wait to come SPARKle with you!

This month we’re bringing back tracking our baseline days! Each day of the week that we have a Spark class, we’ll feature a dedicated baseline move that will help you to track your progress.

Baseline day schedule. Monday: dumbbell goblet squat; Tuesday: barbell hip thrust; Wednesday: dumbbell chest press; Thursday: kettlebell single arm row; Saturday: kettlebell deadlift

For those wishing to participate, we will be running a rep-based progressive overload program. Participating members will be working within a set rep range (8-12) and progressing weekly, pursuing their strength goals. Individual blackboards will be provided for members to keep track of their progress.
